Over many years North Yorkshire County Music Service has been running County Ensembles for gifted and talent young musicians.

The North Yorkshire County Ensembles provide students with opportunities to develop their musical experiences, meet likeminded musicians and make new friends from across the county. You will have the opportunity to work with senior members of the Music Service and guest conductors and will rehearse a wide range of musical styles.

Our Ensembles cater for a range of abilities and age groups:
Concert Orchestra and Youth Orchestra welcome orchestral players from Year 5 and grade 3+ (Concert Orchestra) and Year 7 and grade 5+ for Youth Orchestra.
County Youth Choir is for students in Year 7 and above and is a full SATB choir. We rehearse each half term and are preparing to tour to Salzburg in 2018.
Entry to the County Brass and Saxophone Ensembles is by audition (approx grade 6+) and they join together for the County Youth Big Band. 2018 will see the joint ensemble travel to Ebblingham in Northern France.
