North Yorkshire County Youth Choir

The North Yorkshire County Youth Choirs bring together young singers from across the county to enjoy singing whilst learning interesting repertoire and developing important techniques. The Youth Choir perform in concerts throughout the year, some in high profile venues and some in partnership with other musical organisations. The county choirs are not selective and the emphasis is upon finding singers with potential who love making music with others.

Coached by Andrea Rhodes, Nigel Waugh

The Youth Choir is a full SATB choir and is the county’s premier choir for young people in school years 8 - 13. The choir attracts members from across North Yorkshire and surrounding counties from schools in both the state and independent sectors. We perform a wide ranging repertoire from the 17th Century to the modern day, from Mozart to Coldplay and Adele! Strong male choir of own

The singers have the opportunity to perform in a wide variety of venues and benefit from the professional tuition of high quality teaching staff. The choir will be undertaking our first tour abroad this year to Saltsburg and have performed in many renowned venues including the Royal Albert Hall.

The choir is an excellent and hugely enjoyable training ground from which vocal students can further their singing at a higher level but is not selective and are committed to welcome all singers and to inspire young singers to achieve their very best.

The Youth Choir rehearses once every half term at Tadcaster Grammar School before our tour to Salzburg in July.

We are very happy to welcome new members. If you would like to find out more about the Choir please complete the contact form HERE or contact Musical Director; Emma Calvert (
